CDOT VOICES WELCOMES YOU
Community Choir based in Stanford-le-Hope, Essex
ABOUT US
Recruiting now (no audition necessary)
We are CDOT, a fun, award-winning, mixed-voice (men and ladies) choir; a friendly crowd of enthusiastic amateurs who just love singing together. Okay, so we’ve won awards; but you don’t have to be a brilliant singer to join us. All we ask is that you are 18 or over and can sing in tune. We have strong, confident singers to lead each section in rehearsal so you can always hide behind them if you’re shy!
We work hard to achieve as high a standard of singing as we can and we certainly earn our mid-rehearsal coffee or post-rehearsal pint; but there is always a lot of laughter and that’s how it should be.
We give up to 12 concerts a year all over Essex, raising money for charities and other good causes. Both our Conductor and Accompanist are professional musicians with many years’ experience of working with both professional and amateur singers.
A typical concert will contain a wide range of styles of music – songs from Musicals, TV and Films, Popular Songs old and new, Folk, Jazz, Latin American and a little Classical. Robbie Williams’ Angel often finds itself sharing a programme with Abba, Andrew Lloyd-Webber, the Beatles, Gershwin, Queen, Verdi and the Girl from Ipanema!
It’s true – joining a choir is good for the soul. And CDOT Voices is always on the lookout for new members who can bring their unique sound, fresh energies and of course fun to the choir.
We meet every Wednesday in the Gateway People's Centre, Stanford-le-Hope Methodist Church, from 8 to 10pm. New members are always welcome.
So, if you would like more information, come to a rehearsal to meet us or like complimentary tickets for our next concert please contact our Chair, Bernadette Tsocos.
